Labour Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is currently consulting on proposals to close Enfield Town Police Station.
Edmonton Green Police Station will be the only police station in the borough if these plans go ahead.
The plans also include disposing of Southgate Police Station meaning there will only be one police station in the whole of Enfield.
The Mayor of London is in charge of policing in Enfield. If Labour spent our money more wisely, the police station would not be under threat.
The leader of the Enfield Conservative Councillors Clr. Joanne Laban said:
"The proposals to close Enfield Town Police Station are totally unacceptable. We are most concerned about potential longer response times to large incidents as Edmonton Green Police Station and the Lincoln Road control base near Ponders End are further away, The consultation has not been not been well advertised resulting in many people being unaware that Enfield
Town Police Station is under threat of closure. We believe that Enfield's size, growing population and crime /levels mean that these proposals will harm our Borough. Please join our campaign to save Enfield Town Police Station."
