Our green belt is not just open land - it’s the heart of our community, a home for wildlife, and a vital space for recreation, clean air, and flood protection. 

The Labour government, supported by Enfield’s Labour Council, is planning to build a new town. The New Town proposes 21,000 homes on our Green Belt. 

We believe our green spaces should be protected, not paved over. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. This development would destroy natural habitats, increase traffic and pollution, and change the character of our borough forever.
