Enfield North Conservatives have selected life-long Enfield resident Cllr.Joanne Laban, as their candidate to stand at the next general election.
Born at Chase Farm Hospital she attended Brimsdown Primary School and Bishop Stopford's Secondary School in the Enfield North constituency. Joanne has been a councillor since 2010 and is the first female leader of the Enfield Conservative Group. Over the years, she has been a school governor at Forty Hill Primary School and she serves as a trustee of the local Nightingale Cancer Centre Charity based in Baker Street.
At the selection meeting, Joanne said, "I am committed to supporting the Prime Minister to get Brexit done so we can then move on to addressing important matters such as policing, schools and the NHS. My main priority is to tackle crime and I welcome the government's commitment to recruit 20,000 additional police officers. I am also pleased that schools will be receiving more funding so that children can get the best start in life."
